agreed. I flew over the southwest today. i watched all the canyons and black mountains, beneath and above the haze, and all I could think about was how grand and long the plains stretch out in the summer air, the dusty wind and silence of it all.. i wanted to be in it not above it.

then again, I want to be surrounded by people forever. what a dilemma, eh? Like having to poop and wanting to eat at the same time

mikie that dilemma you mention is pretty gross and not one i've ever thought of before! but i really like what you say about the southwest. you should read leslie marmon silko. it is crazy how the american government mined for bomb materials out of their sacred blue mountain in new mexico.

Lots of mining in the southwest. And Mikie would like Leslie Marmon--I read Ceremony but need to read more! I do have Storyteller but haven't really got into that yet.

I love the southwest. Lately, especially. It blows my mind, literally every day (even though we're just a wee bit north of it, I consider us *in* it).
