2008 List of Resolves (reposted)

WELCOME!
Happy New Year everybody!
Addie, Joey, Heather, Matt, Amy, Jarom, Bella, Orion, Momma, Papa, Darin, Art, welcome to the newest year in our world, 2008.
I was thinking:
Let's all write a List of Resolutions on here, to ring in the year.
Make the list, then make them happen!
There is no resolve that's too big or too small,
or so personal that you couldn't share to us all!
If we can hike Timp and share all our secrets,
then it should be breezy to make up a list.
What stuff will you do in the upcoming year?
What will you change, conquer which fear?
What new passion will you pursue?
What old creative source will you tap into?

Ok everyone, here goes:

Mikie's List:

1- Less booze, more fun.
Number 1. I miss the old days of real true fun times. full of video games and hikes and bouncing around town rooftops and being with friends and living real. College is over, mikie.

2 - Work OUT, Live out
Number 2. Get outside as much as my human body can handle. In the cold or the rain, or the sun and ultraviolet loveliness. I need more real living exercise, and that means to be outside more than I sometimes am. How? Walk more. Bike more. Snowboard more. Hike more, alone or not. Initiate.

3 - Read and Research
Number 3. Read everything my eyes see. Find books, have 4 going at once. Get my brain excited about the cultures and peoples of the world, like ol' anthropology days.
This leads me to my next one.

4 - Experience ART
Number 4. Everything created is at least worth one look, objectively or not. So I will watch every High School Musical and Jodorowski. With an eye for changing my tastes to include new ideas.

5 - Eco living
Number 5. I hope this is on all of our lists. I want to minimalize minimalize minimalize. 5 times even. Make less waste, eat more local. eat wholer and greener. Be healthier and happier and a better liver in this filthy natural world. We're gonna win with nature eventually, so let's keep improving starting now, if not already.

6 - ACT.
Number 6. This one's personal. I resolve to continue to get real acting jobs throughout the year. I did it all last year, and every year until now. I just have to keep it up. Money or not, I want to Act!

7 - Travel and Explore
Number 7. I've seen a glimpse of this world. Now it's time to really go for it. Who wants to come with me and now live bigger and see new things always? 2008 will be months of new sights and sounds and cultures that just cannot be found in Placerville or Santa Cruz.

That's it guys, now it's your turn!
Love Mikie

I want to put up my list too, but I just got up and I have to get ready for work. I loved reading your lists guys, they sound wonderful, I'll write mine later today. I had a wonderful Holiday Season, and as usual, I am so sad it's over, it was hard saying bye yesterday to Matt, Amy and the Babes and seeing everything get back to normal. But as I always say "Back to the Old Grind" however, I'll try to always keep a smile on my face. I love this wonderful family Dad and I created and you all ran with! Mom/Nana/Nana Sue

Mikie--great idea to repost the resolutions list. Hope you don't mind that I just changed the date on the first post, so we didn't have to have the list up there twice.

Also, I shall post mine soon. Promise. I've been a bit of a slacker on the old blog lately, this I know.

8 - Be Proud of my Passion
Number 8. Last and most importantly for me: make something and do something with my life that I would be stoked and proud to have everybody come up to me and compliment me about. Not Disney, but Mikie. Something that I truly believe in, that I feel reflects my person. something incredible that makes people smile or frown, that evokes any sort of emotion. This will probably be some sort of acting. First thing when I get to LA, I'm gonna finally spread my dusty wings and blast the winds of time with the fresh air of Mikie for all to breath! the disney job is barely anything in comparison to what I actually WANT to be doing right now, you guys have no idea.

Okay finally here's a partial list of some resolutions from me:

--Keep a real garden, starting spring
----Start composting to add to garden
--Drink less and less soda, more and more water, and some teas
--Pursue my *real* goals: write more, be published or self-publish
--Go on as many adventures as time and funding allows, especially while we're still in Utah

yeeehaww mattie! you're on good territory with these goals. have you ever tried the "traditional medicinal" teas? if you get a cold, try the "throat coat with echinacea." it's so so so yummy and makes you feel better. anyway i am stoked to see that you posted these and i like the garden idea, i think i'll steal it. composting, i used to do, but i need to get back on it. and i do it the easy/lazy way...just bury it in the yard. at least it makes good soil with very little effort. keep us posted on any adventures!
