so i was thinking, we have not had anybody plan a trip of any kind yet for this summer. so i am just going to throw something out there. last year mikie suggested going to sequoia and kings canyon national parks. i think that would be a really good idea, considering their not-so-far distance from placerville and the fact that they seem totally amazing. also i (and a few others ive talked to) was thinking that instead of doing something for a week or two, we should revert to our old school 3 night family camping trip like we always used to do at places like green creek or twin lakes. what do you guys think of that? i figured it would really make things easier and more doable since everyone seems to really kind of have a lot on their plate these days. i know i sort of do.
maybe a sunday through wednesday in late july? there are lots of regions of the park so we are going to have to buckle down and pick one to spend a few days in. im sure they are all splendid. everyone check out their website: http://www.nps.gov/seki/index.htm

thanks Joey, and I think you are right on with a little less extravagant outing this year, though we always have a really wonderful time even when fewer days. And maybe if we feel we don't get enough we can take another closer to home campout(say at Gerle Creek or Twin Lakes or so)but for now Sequoias sounds great.
i say sequoia but we need to try to plan it around matt and amy's trip to yosemite which is i believe july 5-8, a mon to thurs. guys want to go on the 9-13? joey it would be worth it to get ONE WEEKEND OFF?!! right!? then we'll stay through your monday and tuesday normal days off. we'll romp through the forest for reals. we'll take our backpacks. we'll make a fire and sing songs. c'mon we have to do it. i don't care where we go. also i have SOMETHING UP MY SLEEVE FOR NEXT YEAR EVERYONE!!!
Heather, Jose and I talked about this, and he thinks the weekend prior (the actual 4th of July weekend) would be best, considering he already has Sunday the 4th off. Sequoia + Kings Cyn are gonna be PERFECT. Serious. We're going to leave and already be planning a return trip.
And Heather I think I know your next year plan. Baja! Ah ha ha! (verdad?)
